The milestone was commemorated at the club’s anniversary meeting held on Monday, February 16th, 2026, in an evening filled with reflection, inspiration, and renewed commitment to service.

A highlight of the celebration was a keynote address delivered by attorney and Founding President, Ms. Knijah Knowles (pictured). Her presentation, themed “Becoming the Leader You Needed When You First Joined,” resonated deeply with members past and present. Drawing from her experience in establishing and nurturing the club, Ms. Knowles challenged Rotaractors to reflect on their personal growth journeys and to intentionally cultivate leadership that empowers others.

In her address, she outlined four foundational pillars essential to developing strong and sustainable leadership within the club: belief, vision, knowledge, and building your team. She emphasized the importance of believing in the mission and in one’s own potential; crafting and communicating a clear vision for the future; continuously seeking knowledge to remain effective and relevant; and intentionally building a team that fosters collaboration, trust, and shared purpose. Her words served as both a reminder of the club’s beginnings and a call to action for its future.

Through initiatives focused on health and wellness, youth development, community outreach, and professional growth, the club has consistently demonstrated its dedication to meaningful impact within Nassau and beyond. Guided by its motto, “One Family, One Community, One Mission,” the club strives to maintain a welcoming, supportive, and vibrant atmosphere for members and prospective Rotaractors alike. This ethos has been central to its longevity and success, fostering camaraderie while driving purposeful service.

As the Rotaract Club of Nassau Sunset steps confidently into its 13th year, it remains steadfast in its commitment to developing leaders, strengthening communities, and upholding the spirit of service above self.
